How to set up and use Two-Factor Authentication, if your organization requires it.
Set up your Timescapes to log in with Two-Factor Authentication
Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) helps protect your account by making it more difficult for someone else to sign in to your account. It requires you use two different forms of identity: your password / SSO login, and a verification code, each time you sign in.
If your Company Administrator enables Two-Factor Authentication, you will be prompted to set up Two-Factor Authentication the next time you log in or accept an invitation:
Enabling Two-Factor Authentication
- Click the invitation email from your Project Admin to create an account / set up Two-Factor Authentication on Timescapes
- Install an organization-approved authenticator app on your mobile phone, such as “Microsoft Authenticator” , Google Authenticator, or Authy.
- Open the app and select ‘Add account’ or ‘scan QR code’
- Scan the QR code on Timescapes from within the Authenticator App
- Enter the 6 digit code in Timescapes.
- You’re set up! You’ll need that phone or device on you each time you log in.
Enabling Two Factor Authentication without Organization-Enforced Access
Want to add the extra security of Two-Factor Authentication for your account? Here’s how to enable it on your own account:
- Go to ‘My account’ > Account Details
- Click the Two-Factor Authentication’ button
- Install an organization-approved authenticator app on your mobile phone, such as “Microsoft Mobile Phone Authenticator”
- Open the app and select ‘Add account’ or ‘scan QR code’
- Scan the QR code on Timescapes from within the Authenticator App
- Enter the 6 digit code in Timescapes.
- You’re set up! You’ll need that phone or device on you each time you log in.
